Vocational Knowledge and Experience: Offers practical insights into specific occupational areas such as business, retail, construction, hospitality, or health and social care, with hands-on tasks and activities.
Health, Safety, and Professionalism: Covers essential workplace topics like understanding health and safety regulations, maintaining a professional attitude, and adhering to workplace standards and expectations.
Pathways to Employment: Encourages exploration of career opportunities, building employability skills such as CV writing, interview preparation, and understanding job roles and responsibilities.

About This Qualification

The qualifications are intended to be accessible to a wide range of learners of all abilities.
The NCFE Occupational Studies for the Workplace qualifications are intended to give learners a solid base from which to further develop their skills and learning.
Learners can develop a ‘hands-on’ approach to their learning and gain practical skills, knowledge and understanding in their chosen vocational area(s).
The skills, knowledge and understanding gained may help learners prepare for work through real or simulated work situations and may contribute to preparing them for working life beyond education.

There are no specific prior skills and knowledge a learner must have for this qualification.
How is it assessed?
The qualifications are completely portfolio-based and are assessed by Achieve with SAT.
What are the expected outcomes?
Learners are not intended or expected to be competent following successful completion of the Occupational Studies for the Workplace qualifications. Competency would be achieved through the completion of recognised Competence-Based Qualifications (CBQs) or National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs).
